Frequently asked questions
Ensure your own safety and that of the other road users. Call the police or complete a joint statement with the at-fault driver. You may also take photos and collect the contact details of any witnesses.
For claims handled under the at-fault driver’s third-party liability insurance, report the claim to that driver’s insurer. With Ominimo, you can report a claim by phone or through the form on our website.
You will need the vehicle registration certificate, a statement completed with the at-fault driver or details of the police unit that attended the incident, as well as the at-fault driver’s details: full name, vehicle registration number and policy number.
Take photos of all vehicles involved, ensuring their registration plates are visible.
Yes. You may call the police or, if the circumstances are clear, complete a statement with the at-fault driver. Be sure to include the driver’s full name, vehicle registration number and policy number.
You will receive confirmation of the claim registration by email. An assessor will then contact you to arrange an inspection. You may also take and send us the photos yourself. If we consider them sufficient, an in-person inspection by a mobile assessor will not be necessary.
Yes. You can show documents to the assessor during the inspection or send them to us via the following link easily: Upload documents.
We estimate the compensation amount based on photographic documentation received from the assessor or directly from the claimant.
We do not recommend starting repairs before the inspection. To allow us to assess the damage correctly, it is best to wait for the inspection or obtain our approval before starting repairs.
Yes, you can choose the repair shop where you would like your car repaired. However, we recommend using our repair network. These are trusted workshops familiar with our standards and procedures. This helps ensure the repair is completed smoothly, while keeping the formalities involved in settling the claim to a minimum.
This is a convenient and secure claims-settlement option: the repair shop arranges the repair, while the insurer works with it on claim handling and cost settlement.
After you report the claim, your car is taken to the selected repair shop, which completes the repair as agreed. You do not need to organise the entire process yourself or settle the repair costs with the insurer.
This option reduces paperwork for the customer and helps ensure a smooth process, from reporting the claim to collecting the repaired car.
Yes. You sign an authorisation allowing the repair shop to settle the claim directly with the insurer.
Yes. If you cannot replace the damaged vehicle with another vehicle, you are entitled to use a replacement vehicle while the claim is handled under the at-fault driver’s third-party liability insurance. Ominimo works with rental providers and can arrange the rental for you.
Use your Assistance insurance or contact another company to arrange towing. For claims handled under the at-fault driver’s third-party liability insurance, Ominimo will reimburse the towing costs based on the invoice provided. You are also entitled to a replacement vehicle if you cannot replace the damaged vehicle with another vehicle.
You can check your claim status at ominimo.pl, in the Help Centre section.
The insurer has 30 days to issue a decision on the claim. If it is not possible to establish the circumstances necessary to determine liability within that period, a decision will be issued within no more than 90 days.
You will receive the decision by email or regular post. Compensation will be paid to the bank account number you provide.
Call an ambulance and the police as soon as possible.
Secure the vehicle keys and registration certificate. Then report the incident to the police and, if you have comprehensive motor insurance (AC), to your insurer.
If you disagree with the decision, you may submit an appeal. State which part of the decision you disagree with, explain your position, and attach any additional information or documents that could affect the reconsideration of your case.
